(Fountain Valley, CA) A pedestrian died Monday night, January 19, after a vehicle struck them at a busy Warner Avenue intersection. Officers arrived on scene around 7:30 p.m. to the Warner Avenue and Newhope Street intersection. As per the officials,. Early reports pointed to a major traffic accident with a pedestrian involved. When police arrived, they found a man suffering from fatal injuries. Despite paramedics responding to the scene, the pedestrian did not survive. Officials have not disclosed the victim’s identity, while police continue efforts to identify and inform his family. Police also did not reveal the pedestrian’s position in the roadway during the collision. Investigators identified the driver involved and took them into custody at the scene. Fountain Valley police reported that the driver was booked on suspicion of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated.
