(Northridge, CA) Early Thursday morning on February 5, a man died after being hit by a vehicle that fled the scene in a West Roscoe Boulevard crash. Los Angeles Police Department officers were alerted just before 2 a.m. to the 14300 block of West Roscoe Boulevard, located west of Balboa Boulevard. Police say officers discovered the driver was heading east on Roscoe Boulevard when the vehicle hit a pedestrian in the road. Los Angeles Fire Department responders arrived and found the pedestrian suffering critical injuries. Paramedics declared the man dead on site. Officials withheld the victim’s name, age, and hometown. That information was still unavailable while investigators tried to notify next of kin. Police reported that the driver involved failed to stop and provide aid, instead continuing eastbound after the crash. Investigators have not provided a description of the vehicle or the suspect. Officials also failed to provide details on lighting conditions or traffic signals. The LAPD Valley Traffic Bureau took over the investigation.
