(Canyon Lake, CA) A woman died late Saturday night, January 31, after a vehicle struck her in a crash on Railroad Canyon Road. Riverside County Sheriff’s Department deputies arrived at the scene around 10:20 p.m. near Railroad Canyon Road and Canyon Lake Drive. Officials say deputies arrived to discover a female pedestrian lying in the roadway with serious injuries. Deputies and paramedics tried to revive the woman before a doctor declared her dead on site. Officials did not disclose the woman’s name, age, or hometown. Officials also failed to specify the woman’s position in the roadway or the direction of travel of the involved vehicle at the time of the crash. The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department Lake Elsinore Station Traffic Team took over the investigation. Deputies determined that neither alcohol nor drugs contributed to the collision.
