Palm Springs, CA (April 21, 2026) – A head-on collision between two vehicles near Palm Springs left three people injured. The crash happened just before 12:30 p.m. On Tuesday, April 21, along Dillon Road, west of Valley View Drive. According to investigators, a Subaru SUV was making a U-turn when it struck an oncoming Mazda sedan. Both drivers and one passenger were transported to Desert Regional Medical Center for treatment. Officials have yet to disclose information on the severity of their injuries. Authorities are still probing the cause of the crash, with additional details to be shared as they emerge. Our thoughts go out to those impacted as they recover. How U-Turn Maneuvers Can Result in Head-On Collisions. Head-on collisions can happen when a vehicle turns into the path of opposing traffic. U-turns demand a clear view in both directions and sufficient space to perform the maneuver safely. Misjudging the speed or distance of an oncoming vehicle raises the risk of a head-on collision. These crashes frequently occur rapidly, leaving little reaction time for either driver. Roads like Dillon Road, with higher traffic speeds, can make turning maneuvers more challenging. In such scenarios, precise timing and vigilance regarding nearby vehicles are crucial for preventing collisions.
