A man named Oscar Garcia Soto, who was 88 years old and from Santa Ana, tragically passed away in a car accident on La Veta Avenue on Sunday evening. Authorities took a 26-year-old motorist into custody on charges of driving under the influence following a deadly accident. This incident occurred on Sunday, September 21, shortly before 8:00 p.m. The Orange Police Department reported that the La Veta Avenue accident took place close to Devon Road. Officials stated that 26-year-old Bryan Reyes from Santa Ana was traveling east on La Veta Avenue. At one moment, his car collided with Soto, who was crossing the street southward outside of a designated crosswalk. Emergency responders quickly arrived, but unfortunately, they declared that Soto had succumbed to his injuries. Shortly after the incident, police apprehended Reyes and charged him with gross vehicular manslaughter due to intoxication. The identity of Soto has been verified by the Orange County Sheriff’s Coroner, as investigators are still examining evidence to establish the complete details of the La Veta Avenue accident.
