On December 2, a fatal accident took place in Huntington Beach, California, involving seven vehicles on Goldenwest Street. The collision resulted in the death of a 37-year-old man and left multiple people injured, including two officers from the Orange County Probation Department. The incident was reported by local police spokesperson Jessica Cuchilla to have occurred at approximately 2:45 p.m. at the crossroads of Goldenwest Street and Heil Avenue. Authorities reported that a gray Tesla Model 3 was speeding east on Heil Avenue. At one point, the driver lost control while going through the intersection. The Tesla collided with several vehicles, and debris from the crash affected a number of nearby cars. The Tesla crashed, flipping multiple times before stopping to the east of the intersection. Upon their arrival, firefighters from the Huntington Beach Fire Department declared the Tesla’s driver deceased at the scene. Eyewitnesses informed journalists that the Tesla could have been speeding at over 100 miles per hour before colliding with another vehicle at the intersection. Four other victims, including a probation officer from Orange County, were taken to nearby hospitals in good health, and several others were treated at the scene. The reason for the crash is still being investigated. Summary of the Goldenwest Street Collision.
