(Lake Mathews, CA) One individual sustained injuries in a head-on collision on Harley John Road early Thursday afternoon, January 8. According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident took place shortly after 1 p.m. at the crossroads of Harley John Road and Cajalco Road. Upon arriving at the scene, officers discovered two vehicles that had sustained heavy damage from a head-on collision. Paramedics from the Riverside County Fire Department arrived at the intersection shortly afterward and found one driver with unspecified injuries. The victim was taken to Riverside University Medical Center in Moreno Valley for treatment. The second driver in the crash was uninjured. CHP officers partially closed the intersection as emergency teams treated the injured driver and cleared debris from the road. The authorities called for tow trucks to remove the damaged vehicles. The intersection was still closed around 1:40 p.m. , anticipating reopening prior to 3 p.m.
