Oakland, CA (January 17, 2026) – A cyclist sustained injuries Friday evening when hit by a truck in a crash near E 31st St in Oakland. The event took place at approximately 7:46 p.m. It occurred on January 16 and involved a 50-year-old man who was hurled an estimated 10 to 15 feet on impact. Emergency medical personnel arrived promptly to aid the injured cyclist, who stayed conscious and alert at the scene. He complained of pain in his left ribs, chest, and left ankle. Although no abnormalities were observed, responders observed tenderness in the mid-back and ankle regions. The man denied losing consciousness but reported feeling dazed right after the crash. First responders assessed the victim’s condition and monitored vital signs while preparing for additional care. His injuries were not life-threatening, but he was taken for further medical evaluation out of caution. Our thoughts are with the injured bicyclist, and we wish him a swift and complete recovery.
