Oakland, CA (January 2, 2026) – Emergency responders attended a two-car accident involving injuries on northbound Highway 13 south of Thornhill Dr on Monday afternoon, per California Highway Patrol dispatch logs. The crash was reported at approximately 12:41 p.m. It involved a white Mercedes and another unidentified vehicle. One of the vehicles veered off the road and ended up in a ditch, its airbags deploying upon impact. California Highway Patrol and emergency medical services were sent to the scene to check for potential injuries. No information has been released yet regarding the number of injured people or the extent of their injuries. The incident led to traffic backups in the vicinity while emergency personnel assessed the situation and aided those affected. The cause of the crash is still being investigated. We wish a speedy recovery to everyone impacted by the incident.
