On September 26, 2025, in Oakland, CA, a collision involving two vehicles took place Thursday afternoon on I-880 close to University Ave, leading to minor injuries and traffic interruptions. The accident was reported at approximately 3:30 PM. A red Honda CR-V and a brown Toyota RAV-4 were involved, prompting the California Highway Patrol officers to arrive at the scene. They discovered both cars stationary in the gore point area. A passenger in the Honda CR-V mentioned experiencing whiplash and a headache, but opted not to be transported by ambulance after medical staff assessed them. Even after the collision, both vehicles were still operable. Nevertheless, their location in the gore area posed a danger that necessitated a quick reaction from police to maintain road safety. The specific reason for the accident is currently being investigated, and no tickets or arrests have been issued as of now. CHP personnel stayed at the location for a short time to ensure that vehicles were removed safely and to evaluate the state of traffic. We hope for a quick recovery for the injured individual and are grateful that no major injuries took place.
