Oakland, CA (September 11, 2025) – A high-speed event concerning a Tesla Model 3 resulted in a four-car crash early Wednesday morning on southbound 3rd St, causing one injury and multiple vehicle damages, as reported by the California Highway Patrol – Alameda County. Witnesses noted that a dark gray or black Tesla was erratically maneuvering through traffic at approximately 6:11 a.m. prior to initiating a series of collisions close to the 3rd St corridor in West Oakland. The incident included a minimum of four vehicles, prompting a rapid response from emergency services. Paramedics evaluated everyone involved in the vehicles and identified that one individual was suffering from chest pain as a result of the collision. The person was attended to at the location for what the CHP classified as minor injuries, according to incident code 1181. It remains uncertain whether they were taken for additional medical assessment. The Tesla driver stayed at the location, and authorities are looking into whether reckless driving or high speeds contributed to the incident. Delays were reported in the southbound lanes near 3rd St as emergency responders worked to clear the area and record the positions of the vehicles involved. The CHP has yet to disclose any arrests or citations, although charges might be evaluated based on the findings of the investigation. At this time, there have been no other reported injuries.
