A traffic collision was reported at about 3:06 p.m. on Oct. 14, 2026, on northbound State Route 55 just south of Interstate 405 in Orange County, California. The California Highway Patrol classified the incident as a collision with injuries unknown.
The location was identified as northbound State Route 55 near the Interstate 405 interchange. CHP’s dispatch information did not specify how many vehicles were involved or provide descriptions of the vehicles.
A later CHP update at about 3:36 p.m. indicated that a flatbed tow provider had been contacted and was expected to arrive in approximately 20 minutes. The update did not provide additional information about the condition of the vehicles.
The available dispatch record did not document a lane closure, overturned vehicle, fire, or confirmed injuries. It also did not identify the cause of the collision.
