A traffic collision with unknown injuries was reported at about 1:51 p.m. Friday, Aug. 28, on northbound Interstate 880 at the State Route 237 off-ramp in California. The incident was described as occurring on the Calaveras off-ramp.
A later California Highway Patrol update said traffic was heavy because of a lane closure in the area. The dispatch information did not identify the vehicles involved or provide an injury assessment.
The update also indicated that a service provider was advised and expected to respond in less than 10 minutes. CHP provided no further details about the requested assistance.
Another responding unit was handling a high-priority call at the time of the update. The available dispatch information did not state when the lane closure would end or provide a final scene status.
