The crash was reported in the HOV lane, identified by CHP as lane No. 1. The dispatch information did not specify the number or types of vehicles involved.
By 3:45 p.m., CHP reported that the vehicles remained in the HOV lane and that towing assistance was requested. The update indicates that recovery of at least one vehicle was needed at the scene.
