A traffic collision involving two vehicles was reported on southbound Interstate 680 near the Rudgear Road on-ramp in Contra Costa County on September 24, 2026. The California Highway Patrol classified the incident as a collision with no reported injuries.
The crash was reported at approximately 3:44 p.m. in the southbound lanes of I-680, at the Rudgear Road on-ramp. CHP’s location description placed the incident just south of the Rudgear Road interchange.
A subsequent CHP update stated that both vehicles were on the right-hand side of the roadway. The dispatch did not report injuries, trapped occupants or a need for medical transportation.
The vehicle-position update was logged at approximately 3:47 p.m. CHP dispatch information did not document a roadway closure or provide additional details about the vehicles or the circumstances of the collision.
