A no-injury collision was reported at about 3:48 p.m. Sept. 19 on southbound Interstate 405 near the Santa Monica Boulevard offramp. The incident was documented in the West Los Angeles area of California Highway Patrol jurisdiction.
The location was described as southbound I-405 just north of the Santa Monica Boulevard offramp. Dispatch information did not identify the vehicles involved or indicate that any lanes were blocked.
At 3:54 p.m., the reporting party advised CHP that no injuries were involved and that a patrol response was not requested. The report was made partly because the reporting party was concerned the second vehicle might later attempt to report the incident as a hit-and-run.
CHP classified the incident as a traffic collision without injuries. No additional information about vehicle damage, roadway restrictions, or further emergency response was provided in the dispatch record.
