A traffic collision was reported at about 7:28 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 15, on westbound Interstate 40 near the Hector Road off-ramp in California. The California Highway Patrol classified the incident as a collision with no reported injuries.
The crash location was described as westbound just west of the Hector Road off-ramp. CHP assigned the incident to its Barstow area.
A traffic break was reported in connection with the collision. CHP later indicated that the traffic break had been released, meaning the temporary traffic-control measure was no longer in effect.
A tow truck was expected at the scene at about 8:14 p.m. to assist with the disabled vehicle or vehicles. The available CHP information did not identify the vehicles involved or provide additional details about the collision.
