Chula Vista, CA (March 18, 2026) – Lane closures resulted from a multi-vehicle collision early Wednesday morning, March 18, on southbound Interstate 805 in Chula Vista. Emergency responders arrived at the site just north of Telegraph Canyon Road around 5:30 a.m. According to reports, at least three vehicles were involved, including a big rig. One of the vehicles ended up positioned sideways across the traffic lanes, posing a danger to other drivers. A diesel spill was also reported after the truck’s fuel tank ruptured in the crash. Consequently, crews closed the two right lanes temporarily to clear the road and contain the spill. All lanes are now open. The extent of injuries has not yet been confirmed. Officials are still probing the cause of the crash, with additional details to be shared as they emerge. We offer our heartfelt wishes for a complete recovery to all those hurt in the incident.
