(Los Angeles, CA) A motorcyclist died early Thursday morning, February 5, following a crash on the southbound Harbor Freeway near the University Park area. The California Highway Patrol reported that officers were notified of the motorcycle collision around 6:17 a.m. The crash took place on the southbound 110 Freeway just north of Adams Boulevard, near the University of Southern California campus. Emergency responders arrived to discover the motorcyclist suffering fatal injuries. Paramedics declared the rider deceased at the scene. Officials did not immediately disclose the victim’s name, age, or hometown. Officials also withheld details on other vehicles involved or the circumstances preceding the collision. While officers conducted their investigation, the CHP issued a SigAlert, closing four southbound lanes of the freeway. As the morning rush hour grew heavier, traffic quickly congested in both directions. CHP officers and Caltrans crews documented the scene and redirected traffic as the investigation continued.
