Sacramento, CA (May 27, 2026) – A motorcyclist was killed Monday night in a hit-and-run crash involving a blue sedan in south Sacramento. The deadly collision occurred just before 6:30 p.m. According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred near the intersection of Power Inn Road and Florin Road. Investigators reported that the suspect vehicle was heading south on Power Inn Road before turning west onto Florin Road. According to CHP, the driver pulled into a turnout area and made an illegal U-turn onto eastbound Florin Road, cutting directly in front of the motorcycle. The rider was unable to stop in time and collided with the sedan’s passenger side. The male motorcyclist succumbed to his injuries while en route to the hospital. Officials reported that surveillance video from the scene indicated the suspect vehicle was a blue four-door sedan with visible damage to the passenger side and a deployed passenger airbag. The driver allegedly sped south on Power Inn Road following the crash. Authorities are still looking for the vehicle involved in the deadly hit-and-run. Our heartfelt condolences are with the victim’s family and loved ones. Why Illegal U-Turns Often Cause Serious Motorcycle Accidents. Illegal U-turns on busy roads can create hazardous conditions, as oncoming drivers and motorcyclists may not have sufficient time to respond. Motorcycles are particularly at risk during abrupt turns, as their smaller size makes them far less visible than larger vehicles—especially at multi-lane intersections with complex, shifting traffic flows. When examining motorcycle collisions, investigators typically analyze road markings, sightlines, traffic signals, and the positioning of the vehicles to reconstruct how the incident occurred.
