Rosamond, CA (May 22, 2026) – A motorcycle collided with a school bus Friday morning on 80th Street West near West Rosamond Boulevard, seriously injuring the motorcyclist. The incident occurred around 7:46 AM, roughly half a mile south of the intersection. Although four children were on the school bus during the crash, none sustained any injuries. Emergency responders arrived promptly, and a tow truck was requested for the motorcycle. The motorcyclist’s name had not been disclosed when this report was published. No additional information on the crash was provided in the original report. The situation is still under active review, with additional details anticipated as the investigation progresses. Our thoughts are with the motorcyclist while they receive medical care. What Typically Happens After a Motorcycle Collides with a School Bus in California? Motorcycle-school bus collisions are uncommon, but the vast size disparity between the vehicles frequently leads to severe injuries for the motorcyclist. Motorcyclists enjoy far less physical shielding than people inside enclosed vehicles, so even a moderate-speed crash can result in severe injuries. School buses, on the other hand, feature reinforced frames and raised seating that help safeguard passengers. When kids are in a vehicle during a collision, they are usually examined at the scene as a precaution, even if they show no visible signs of injury.
