(Los Angeles, CA) A 25-year-old man died and multiple others were hurt in a multi-vehicle crash on the northbound 5 Freeway in the Los Feliz area early Sunday morning, January 18. The California Highway Patrol reported the incident happened around 3:20 a.m. On the northbound Golden State (5) Freeway at Los Feliz Boulevard. Emergency responders sent out following reports of a serious crash obstructing traffic lanes. Upon arrival, firefighters and officers discovered several damaged vehicles scattered across the freeway. Los Angeles Fire Department officials reported that the collision ejected the 28-year-old victim from a vehicle. The officers declared the victim deceased at the scene. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner subsequently identified him as Moses Jimenez. Fire officials stated that the collision’s impact resulted in severe injuries to multiple other individuals involved. LAFD spokesperson Lyndsey Lantz reported that a second man, aged 43 or 83, sustained serious injuries. Paramedics transported him, a 61-year-old man, a 35-year-old man, and two 22-year-old men to hospitals. The crash led CHP to issue a SigAlert at 3:39 a.m.
