Menlo Park, CA (September 27, 2025) – A 16-year-old high school student was admitted to the hospital on Thursday morning after being hit by a car while riding an electric bike close to a local high school, as stated by the Menlo Park Police Department. The incident occurred at approximately 8:30 a.m. At the crossroad of Valparaiso Avenue and Crane Street, there is significant traffic associated with schools during the morning peak hours. Officials reported that the teenager was riding an electric bike when they were struck by a vehicle near the high school. The incident resulted in the rider sustaining moderate injuries. Emergency responders quickly arrived at the scene and took the injured teenager to a local hospital for additional treatment. The individual’s identity remains confidential, and there are currently no updates available regarding their health status. Information about the driver connected to the incident, including whether they stayed on-site, has also not been revealed. The Menlo Park Police Department is currently looking into the incident to ascertain the cause of the collision.
