Malibu, CA (May 5, 2026) – A deadly collision on State Route 1 at Mulholland Highway in Malibu triggered a SigAlert and bidirectional lane closures on Monday, May 4. The incident was initially reported at around 4:41 a.m. Several northbound lanes of Pacific Coast Highway, along with the number one southbound lane, were closed as emergency crews responded at the scene. The northbound lanes were reopened around 7:15 a.m. One southbound lane will stay closed for another hour. The Los Angeles County Coroner was alerted, and an investigator was dispatched to the scene. No information has been verified yet regarding the number of individuals involved, the vehicle(s), or the events preceding the crash.
