Placerville, CA (May 14, 2026) – A serious two-vehicle collision between a white Subaru Outback and a red Mazda5 minivan occurred early Thursday morning on Wentworth Springs Road near Mt. Eaton Mine Road in El Dorado County. Emergency responders arrived at the scene just before 6:50 a.m. following an iPhone crash alert. After the crash, reports showed that the two vehicles had come to a stop on opposite sides of the road. The accident caused a complete closure of the road while emergency teams worked at the scene. One individual was reportedly transported by air ambulance after the crash. Fire crews were also called to areas near Beam Field Park and the 6500 block of Wentworth Springs Road while emergency teams worked at the scene. Tow trucks were later called to clear away the damaged vehicles. The road in that area stayed blocked for a while until it was finally reopened around 7:54 a.m. Further information on those involved and the severity of injuries remains undisclosed. Officials are still looking into what caused the accident, and will provide updates once more details emerge. We are keeping the injured in our thoughts as they undergo medical treatment.
