Madera, CA (October 4, 2025) – A woman died and a man sustained severe injuries after a head-on crash on Wednesday night close to North Fork in Madera County. The fatal accident happened at approximately 4:30 PM. According to the California Highway Patrol, a 69-year-old woman was traveling east on Road 200 near Duke Rd when her vehicle veered into the westbound lanes for reasons that are currently being investigated. Her vehicle crashed head-on into a Chevy Silverado being driven by a 75-year-old man from Fresno. The collision resulted in severe destruction to both cars. Emergency responders arrived promptly and administered medical assistance to the two drivers. Unfortunately, the woman was declared deceased at the location. The male driver suffered severe injuries and was taken to Community Regional Medical Center for additional medical care. Currently, no further information regarding their identities has been disclosed. The California Highway Patrol is still looking into the factors behind the accident, examining if speed, distraction, or road conditions could have contributed.
