Los Angeles, CA (February 26, 2026) – A white semi-truck pulling a trailer collided with the center divider on southbound Interstate 5 near the Templin Highway off-ramp in Los Angeles County during the early morning of Wednesday, February 25. The incident was initially reported at about 12:47 AM. The semi-truck ended up perched atop the center divider guardrail, with debris strewn across the lanes. Shortly after 2:20 AM, a Sig Alert was issued, with lane one closed for a prolonged duration. Caltrans crews arrived at the scene, and the closure continued well into the afternoon while they repaired about 100 feet of detached guardrail. The number one lane stayed closed through several Sig Alert extensions, including a final one that added two more hours into the late afternoon. During most of the closure, all other lanes were reported as open. A brief rolling fire was also reported in connection with the crash, although no further details were confirmed. At least one person was injured. The probe is still underway, with officials anticipated to share more information when it emerges. Our thoughts are with those impacted as they recover.
