Los Angeles, CA (March 10, 2026) – A woman was killed in a two-vehicle collision late Sunday night, March 9, at the Flower Street and Washington Boulevard intersection in downtown Los Angeles. Emergency responders arrived at the scene following the crash between two cars. Preliminary reports indicate that a vehicle heading south on Flower Street collided with another traveling east on Washington Boulevard upon entering the intersection. The collision caused the eastbound vehicle to overturn and come to rest on adjacent train tracks. The incident did not involve any trains. The driver of the overturned vehicle, a woman, was transported to a hospital and was subsequently pronounced dead there. The crash is still under investigation. We offer our deepest sympathies to the family of the deceased victim. What Risks Exist in Intersection Crashes? Intersections like the one at Flower Street and Washington Boulevard can pose risks from turning vehicles. In Los Angeles, when injuries are reported, crews frequently work to stabilize traffic flow. Intersection crashes commonly happen when vehicles enter the crossing from different directions simultaneously. The safety of vehicles passing through these areas can be greatly affected by traffic signals, visibility, and timing. If a crash occurs with sufficient force, vehicles may spin or roll over.
