Los Angeles, CA (May 13, 2026) – One person was killed and two others critically injured in a multiple-vehicle collision in South Los Angeles. The accident happened on Tuesday, May 12, at approximately 2 p.m., close to the intersection of Vermont Street and Colden Avenue. A minimum of six vehicles were involved in the collision. One individual was declared dead at the scene, while two others sustained critical injuries in the crash. Footage from the site revealed extensive destruction to several vehicles, including one car that looked as if it had been sliced in two. A black SUV had flipped over and ended up resting on the central median of Vermont Avenue. Debris was scattered across the intersection. The collision occurred in an unincorporated part of Los Angeles County. Officials are still looking into what caused the accident, and further information will be shared as it becomes available.
