Los Angeles, CA (May 13, 2026) – A hit-and-run collision resulting in injuries occurred Tuesday near the corner of Parthenia Street and Van Nuys Boulevard in the Van Nuys neighborhood of Los Angeles. Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene after receiving reports of the crash, which left at least one person hurt. Early reports from the scene described the suspect vehicle as a gray Kia SUV. The number of people injured and the extent of their injuries have not yet been confirmed. Responders arrived at the scene to help those affected and collect details on the vehicle that fled. Authorities are continuing their investigation into the hit-and-run, and additional information may be released as it becomes available. Our thoughts are with those who were injured as they receive medical treatment. How Hit-and-Run Investigations Develop. Hit-and-run incidents in heavily trafficked urban zones typically demand that investigators collect evidence rapidly before road conditions shift or eyewitnesses depart. Vehicle descriptions, surveillance video, and road debris can all provide crucial evidence. Busy intersections with heavy traffic and foot traffic often have nearby commercial security cameras or traffic surveillance systems that can assist investigators in tracking down an escaping vehicle. Even incomplete vehicle details, like its color or make, can assist in narrowing down the search. Investigators also examine damage patterns on the vehicles and accounts from witnesses to determine how the crash took place. In certain instances, vehicle components left behind at the crash site can later be linked to the specific car involved in the incident.
