Los Angeles, CA (May 12, 2026) – A hit-and-run crash resulting in injuries occurred Sunday afternoon on southbound Interstate 405 near Roscoe Boulevard. Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene just north of Roscoe Boulevard after reports of a two-vehicle collision. Initial reports indicated that a blue sedan and a black pickup truck were involved in the crash while driving in the HOV lane. Officials later confirmed it had been upgraded to a hit-and-run with injuries, after initial accounts said no one was hurt. One or more individuals were injured in the incident, though authorities have not yet disclosed the exact number of victims or the severity of their conditions. Traffic lanes were temporarily blocked while vehicles were shifted to the shoulder and crews cleared the roadway. A tow truck was called to clear the damaged vehicles from the scene. No details have been released about the identities of the drivers or the events leading to the crash. The incident is still under investigation by authorities. We are keeping the injured in our thoughts as they get the medical attention they need. What Happens After a Hit-and-Run Crash on a Freeway? Investigators often must reconstruct hit-and-run collisions on busy freeways using physical evidence from the road, damage to vehicles, and statements from witnesses. When several vehicles are involved, establishing the order of impact is a primary concern. In many instances, investigators also examine debris patterns, lane positions, and the movement of the vehicles both before and after the crash. This aids in determining how the collision happened and if any vehicle departed the scene too soon. Investigations can also disrupt traffic flow, particularly when crashes take place on busy routes like interstate highways.
