Los Angeles, CA (March 15, 2026) – One fatality and one critical injury were reported early Sunday morning, March 15, following a three-vehicle collision on the Harbor Freeway in downtown Los Angeles. The incident occurred around 1:50 a.m. In the northbound lanes of the freeway close to the West 3rd Street onramp. Early reports show three vehicles were in the crash, with at least one flipping over. Emergency responders reached the site and discovered a vehicle ablaze after the incident. Firefighters battled the blaze to put out the fire as paramedics evaluated the people affected. One individual was declared dead on site. Another individual with life-threatening injuries was rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition. The crash’s severity led to the closure of all northbound lanes on the Harbor Freeway at West 6th Street, starting around 2:21 a.m. The road closure enabled crews to address the emergency and clear the roadway. Authorities have not yet disclosed further information regarding the victims or the circumstances preceding the crash. The matter is still being investigated by officials.
