Los Angeles, CA (September 14, 2024) – On Saturday evening, emergency responders, including Los Angeles County Fire Department and police, were sent to a location on East Imperial Highway following a traffic accident that resulted in injuries. The accident was reported around 7:35 PM. In the 90045 area, close to Los Angeles International Airport, fire crews from Engine 57 and Squad 39 arrived at the scene, equipped with Advanced Life Support (ALS) services, suggesting that at least one person needed urgent medical care. When the emergency teams arrived, law enforcement was already on the scene, helping with managing the area and directing traffic. Information regarding how many vehicles were involved or the severity of any injuries is still not available. The ALS designation indicates that the medical situation at the site was critical, with paramedics delivering potentially life-saving assistance to the injured from the accident. The area of East Imperial Hwy where the incident took place is a heavily trafficked route, especially in the evening, because of its closeness to airport terminals and hotel districts. The road was briefly impacted while emergency responders took action to secure the area and help those injured. Local officials are still looking into the cause of the accident.
