Los Angeles, CA (October 7, 2025) – A fatal accident occurred early Monday morning on southbound Interstate 110 near West Florence Avenue, involving a white Kia and a tow truck, resulting in at least one death, as stated by the California Highway Patrol. The incident was initially reported just before 1:40 a.m. and took place immediately south of the Florence Avenue off-ramp. Authorities reported the situation was critical, leading to the complete shutdown of the #4 and #5 lanes for several hours while emergency responders attended to the area and investigators gathered information. The victim, whose name has not been disclosed, suffered fatal injuries at the location. A coroner was sent out not long after 5:00 a.m. The vehicle involved was subsequently removed from the location and taken to a nearby storage area. As a result of the prolonged investigation and cleanup, traffic was redirected and a SigAlert was issued. The CHP has reopened the lanes that were affected, while the investigation continues to uncover the circumstances surrounding the fatal incident.
