Los Angeles, CA (September 11, 2025) – A deadly multi-car crash occurred on the northbound lanes of Interstate 5 at the connector with California State Route 134, resulting in at least one fatality on Wednesday afternoon, as reported by the California Highway Patrol’s Altadena division. Emergency services from Los Angeles Fire and Rescue, including paramedics and traffic personnel, arrived at the scene shortly after 1:42 p.m. after reports of a serious accident occurring near the junction of the CA-134 East and West connectors. When they arrived, they discovered considerable damage to the vehicles and at least one person with injuries that were life-threatening. Although medics provided immediate assistance, one individual was sadly declared dead at the site. Authorities have not disclosed the identity of the deceased as they are awaiting notification of the next of kin. It is still uncertain how many cars were part of the incident, but initial dispatch reports suggested that the collision happened near a high-speed connector ramp, a location recognized for challenging merges and short reaction times. The connector ramps and sections of I-5 North were briefly shut down as law enforcement carried out a comprehensive investigation of the scene. The investigation into the cause of the accident is ongoing, and additional information regarding other possible injuries or factors is yet to be verified.
