Long Beach, CA (April 24, 2026) – A small plane crash-landed in a park during an emergency, injuring two people including a pedestrian in Long Beach on Tuesday afternoon. The event took place at approximately 4 p.m. In the 6300 block of Carson Street at Heartwell Park, emergency units arrived to find the aircraft on its belly with damaged landing gear. Officials reported that the plane struck a woman in the park while landing on a soccer field. The pedestrian, a woman in her 40s, and the pilot, an elderly man, were both injured in the incident. They were transported to a nearby hospital and reported to be in moderate but stable condition. Officials stated that the plane had taken off from Compton and was en route to French Valley before it turned around for the emergency landing. No additional information has been disclosed regarding the factors that caused the incident. Officials are still probing the reason behind the crash, with further updates to follow once available.
