Long Beach, CA (January 6, 2026) – A fatal traffic crash featuring an overturned vehicle caused one death and several injuries late Saturday night close to the Atlantic Avenue and East 6th Street intersection in Long Beach. The incident was reported around 10:21 p.m. On 4 January. Battalion One and several rescue and engine units among emergency crews arrived at the scene. When officials arrived, they confirmed the vehicle had flipped over and promptly started triaging multiple patients. Authorities classified the crash as a Level One mass casualty incident. Two people were discovered in critical condition and hurried to local hospitals, while a third victim was declared dead on site. Rescue teams, including Engine 3, Rescue 2, Rescue 3, Rescue 4, and extra medical personnel, were sent to help manage the incident. Crews worked overnight to secure the scene and carry out a thorough investigation, leading to the closure of area traffic. The crash’s cause remains under investigation.
