Livermore, CA (May 1, 2026) – A fatality occurred Thursday morning, April 30, after a multi-vehicle collision on Interstate 580 in Livermore. The crash happened shortly before 7 a.m. On the eastbound side of the highway, east of North Livermore Avenue. Emergency responders arrived at the scene involving three vehicles: a gray Nissan Armada, a gray Toyota Tundra, and a semi-truck without a trailer. Reports indicate the semi-truck kept traveling eastbound after the collision without stopping. The crash forced the Toyota Tundra to roll over, and its driver was declared dead at the scene. No additional injuries were reported among those involved in the incident. The crash initially blocked several right lanes, causing major traffic delays during the morning commute. Lane closures lasted approximately three hours as crews cleared the roadway. Details on the crash’s cause have not been released yet, but authorities are investigating, with more information to follow as it becomes available. We offer our deepest condolences to the family and friends of the deceased. How Hit-and-Run Crashes Involving Large Trucks Are Handled. A hit-and-run occurs when a vehicle departs the scene following a collision. These cases frequently require examining road cameras, vehicle wreckage, and eyewitness statements to pinpoint the driver who fled. Identifying large trucks proves more challenging when key details are scarce.
