Lancaster, CA (April 2, 2026) – A 33-year-old man died Wednesday morning, April 1, following a crane mishap at a Los Angeles County Public Works site in Lancaster. The event occurred around 10:35 a.m. located at 260 East Avenue K-8, immediately east of Market Place. Authorities identified the victim as Victor Cepeda, who was inside a warehouse working when the crane malfunctioned. Emergency crews arrived following reports of a medical emergency at the location. Cepeda was declared dead at the scene, with no other injuries reported. Details on the cause of the crane’s failure have not been disclosed. Officials stated that the accident stemmed from a mechanical problem, though additional details are scarce.
