La Jolla, CA (January 31, 2026) – Emergency responders attended a tragic multi-vehicle accident in La Jolla that killed one person and injured multiple others. The deadly incident took place around 8:30 p.m. Close to the intersection of La Jolla Parkway and Hidden Valley Road. The San Diego Police Department states that a Tesla and at least five other vehicles were involved in the violent crash. The precise cause of the collision remains undetermined. San Diego Fire-Rescue emergency personnel worked swiftly to aid several people trapped in the multi-vehicle pile-up. One victim was sadly declared dead on site. Several other people were injured and taken to nearby hospitals for medical care. The conditions of the injured victims have not been released to the public, and their identities are being withheld until family members are notified. Officers stayed at the scene overnight, gathering evidence and questioning witnesses as part of their continuing investigation into the crash’s cause. Authorities secured the scene and carried out an initial investigation, causing major disruptions to local traffic.
