Irvine, CA (September 25, 2025) – In the early hours of Thursday, emergency personnel from Irvine Fire and Rescue were called to the scene of a traffic accident that involved a public transit bus on southbound I-5 close to Yale Avenue. The incident happened shortly before 8:30 in the morning. The incident involved a gray truck and a white sedan, with at least one vehicle reportedly linked to the Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA). Emergency medical personnel and firefighters quickly responded to help those injured in the accident. It has been confirmed by reports that the accident caused several injuries, but the complete details regarding the severity have not been disclosed to the public yet. The wreckage from the crash was spread over several lanes, causing the middle and #2 lanes to be obstructed for a while. The incident led to major delays while crews cleared the area and assisted those injured. As per the California Highway Patrol, the OCTA driver was among those involved in the situation. At least one medical team was on the way (code 1141) to offer transportation and assistance to those who were injured. The event led to a collaboration between the CHP and Station 91, which alerted fire teams and regulated traffic during the response. The investigation into the accident is ongoing, and officials have not yet established the precise cause of the collision.
