A 26-year-old man named Roberto Jimenez Jr. from San Diego died on Sunday, October 43183, in a crash on State Route 125. The vehicle he was in collided with a parked car, as reported by the California Highway Patrol. The incident happened around 4:30 a.m. on the northbound side of State Route 125 close to Spring Street. In 2023, a Nissan Sentra driven by Jimenez swerved and collided with a stationary 2007 Mercedes-Benz E350 on the right side of the road. Following the collision, the Nissan’s driver abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot, resulting in Jimenez’s death due to severe injuries. Paramedics declared him deceased at the location, as stated by the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office. CHP investigators noted that the accident is still being examined, and efforts to find the driver who escaped are ongoing. Individuals with information are encouraged to reach out to the CHP at their El Cajon office. Summary of the State Route 125 accident. When a driver flees the scene of a deadly crash, investigators pay attention to the Hit-and-Run Law. This law mandates that drivers who are part of an accident causing injury or death must stop, provide their identification, and offer appropriate assistance. Leaving the scene after a fatal crash is a serious crime and will be a key focus of this case. If the Nissan driver’s failure to maintain control played a role in the accident, the Unsafe Lane Change Law might also be relevant.
