Huntington Beach, CA (October 21, 2025) – A devastating hit-and-run accident occurred early Monday morning, resulting in the death of one cyclist and serious injuries to two others along Pacific Coast Highway, as reported by the Huntington Beach police. The crash took place shortly after 6:45 a.m. On October 20, close to the junction of Pacific Coast Highway (PCH) and Newland Street, authorities report that three cyclists who were in the designated bike lane were abruptly hit by a 2006 Mercedes E-Class, which was operated by a 43-year-old woman from Long Beach. After the incident, the driver attempted to leave the area but eventually stopped about half a mile further down. Officers from Huntington Beach subsequently found and apprehended the woman, who is now charged with several offenses, including hit-and-run, gross vehicular manslaughter, and drug possession. Emergency responders arrived to discover that one of the cyclists had sustained fatal injuries and declared the victim dead at the location. The other two injured individuals were taken to a local hospital for treatment of serious injuries. The identity of the cyclist who died has not been disclosed by authorities, and the investigation into the details of the accident is still in progress. We express our heartfelt condolences to the victim’s family and friends and wish for a complete recovery for the injured parties.
