Hughson, CA (May 3, 2026) – Four individuals sustained injuries Saturday morning in a head-on crash on Hatch Road east of Clinton Road in Stanislaus County’s Hughson area. The California Highway Patrol reported the incident happened around 8:30 a.m. It involved a white 2017 Hyundai sedan and a white 2021 Mercedes AMG SUV. Police responding to the scene discovered both vehicles on the south side of the road, showing extensive damage. Initial investigation shows the Hyundai was heading west in the left-turn lane while trying to overtake another vehicle. While executing the maneuver, the driver veered left into the eastbound lane, straight into the path of the approaching Mercedes traveling at approximately 55 mph. The vehicles collided head-on. The Hyundai driver, 22-year-old Jonathan Alejandro Robles Sanchez from Hickman, suffered major injuries. Angel Flores, 25, and Ciarra Bowerman, 24—his two passengers—also sustained serious injuries. Officials observed that Bowerman was not wearing a seatbelt and was partially thrown from the vehicle in the crash. The Mercedes driver, 55-year-old Sukhjinder Singh Sanghera from Hughson, suffered injuries. All four people were taken to nearby hospitals for care. The crash is still being investigated.
