In California, when a hit-and-run accident causes injuries, police act swiftly to identify the fleeing vehicle by gathering witness statements, license plate details, and reviewing surveillance video from the area. When a suspect is found and detained, officers generally run warrant checks and often require several forms of identification before proceeding. Vehicles that cannot be driven away are typically towed from the scene. When injuries occur, medical staff evaluate the affected individuals to decide if they require hospital treatment.
