A hit-and-run collision with no reported injuries occurred Aug. 22 on northbound Interstate 405 near the South Coast Drive on-ramp. The incident was reported to the California Highway Patrol at approximately 3:01 p.m.
The location was described as the northbound I-405 area just south of South Coast Drive, near the on-ramp. The incident was handled through the CHP Santa Ana area.
CHP later added a dispatch update at approximately 4:38 p.m. The available update referenced a vehicle connected to the incident but did not provide a public description of the vehicle.
The dispatch information did not report injuries, lane closures, a fire, an overturned vehicle or towing activity. It also did not provide additional details about how the collision occurred or identify the other driver.
