A hit-and-run incident was reported at about 7:19 p.m. Sept. 9 on southbound U.S. 101 just south of the San Miguel Canyon Road on-ramp in California. The incident involved two vehicles, and no injuries were reported.
According to the California Highway Patrol, one vehicle swerved into the lane of another vehicle. The driver of the second vehicle then swerved to avoid it.
The evasive maneuver caused the reporting driver’s vehicle to strike a side wall. CHP’s dispatch information did not indicate that the two vehicles made contact with each other.
A CHP update issued at approximately 7:24 p.m. described the incident as a hit-and-run. The available dispatch information did not identify the vehicle that swerved or provide additional details about its direction of travel after the incident.
