A hit-and-run collision involving a vehicle and a roadside sign was reported Oct. 7 on southbound Interstate 5 near H Street in the San Diego area. The California Highway Patrol classified the incident as involving no reported injuries.
The collision was reported at approximately 2:58 p.m. on southbound I-5 near the H Street area. CHP dispatch information stated that a vehicle side-swiped another vehicle before also striking a sign.
The incident detail was entered shortly after the initial report, at about 3 p.m. The dispatch information identified the crash as a hit-and-run, but did not provide a description of the vehicle that left the scene.
CHP did not report any injuries or provide additional information about roadway closures, emergency medical response or damage beyond the struck vehicle and sign. The available dispatch record did not identify a suspected driver.
