A hit-and-run collision was reported at the intersection of Alturas Road and Merida Drive at about 10:36 p.m. on Sept. 16, 2026. The California Highway Patrol classified the incident as involving no reported injuries.
A CHP dispatch update three minutes later stated that the vehicle involved was not drivable. The update did not identify the vehicle’s make, model or color.
The dispatch also noted that no one would be available to pick up the vehicle until Saturday. That indicated the vehicle could not be immediately removed through the arrangements described in the report.
CHP did not provide additional details about the other vehicle involved in the hit-and-run or identify a suspected driver. The dispatch information also did not specify whether any lanes or surrounding roads were blocked.
