On December 9, 2025, a 39-year-old man from Modesto was fatally hit in a pedestrian accident in the Hickman region of Stanislaus County, as reported by the California Highway Patrol. The unfortunate event took place around 4:40 a.m. on December 8, 2025, on Lake Road close to Meier Road. Officials stated that a 70-year-old man from Atwater was driving a Chevrolet in an eastward direction on Lake Road when he spotted a pedestrian on the road. The driver tried to swerve and avoid a collision, but the pedestrian is said to have stepped into the car’s path and was hit. First responders arrived promptly and discovered that the pedestrian was severely injured. In spite of their attempts, he was declared dead at the location. His name has not been made public yet, as authorities are waiting to inform his family. The CHP is still looking into the details of the deadly accident.
